Sadly, you may have noticed that this blog is somewhat lacking in content, well that it thanks to our last host UK2.net which saw fit to suspend our hosting and in doing so robbed us of the opportunity of transfering the site, with all of the posts intact, to a new provider. They didn’t even give us any warning. So take note when searching for hosting - avoid UK2.net and go with a more reputable and ethical hosting company such as Hostgator - our new hosting company.

Anyway, we hope that by Monday UK2.net will have had a rethink and allow us access to our files so that we can get some of the previous posts back up again. Unfortunately, if they behave as usual, this is highly unlikely. The attitude of their support sucks and is of the type where they think you are lucky to have hosting and you can wait a few days while they have a cuppa before even responding to your tickets.

UPDATE

I am slowly working through the free Wordpress themes I have created so far but I am also taking a serious look at all of the available Wordpress plugins and seeing which ones are truly useful. One of the first things I noticed that there where not decent widgets for adding Google’s most recent Adsense units. Guess what? You don’t need one it’s already there in the form of the text widget.

How To Add Adsense To Your Wordpress Sidebar

To add adsense to your Wordpress sidebar in any widget ready Wordpress theme (all our free designs are widget ready) simply add a text widget. To be certain I encased my adsense unit into a table and then pasted the complete code into the text input area of the text widget. Hey presto my Adsense unit now appears in the sidebar to the right!

As I learn more I will collate the knowledge gained and try to create a page on the main web site to help users of our free Wordpress themes to maximize their revenue and generally improve their blogs as much as possible with minimal time and effort.

I shall also try to write about my favorite Wordpress plugins and the ones I use most etc.

Ever since I was a child I have maintained some kind of involvement in the arts and entertainment industry.  Even when I was at school I was mixing with some of the music stars of the day (and future) as the brother of a friend of mine put on a music festival each year and we helped out. It wasn’t long before I was in a band. Even when I was an accountant the majority of my clients were involved in the arts and entertainment industry and I found myself having meetings with film actors and TV stars. Today I still go to music festivals and mix with the musicians but not as often as I would like. Nearly everyone I know has a connection with the industry so I was keen to create a free Wordpress theme and blog where I could post a few things.

This arts and entertainment free Wordpress theme is blue/purple over all with a pale blue lightly texture page background image and a dark blue and purple header image.  The text is my usual black on white with the links being pastel blue (which I find less aggressive than the common bright blue). On either side of the blog title are a handful of images relating to arrts and entertainment.

As I have suffered from arthritis since my late teens I have a keen interest on the topic. As I am interested in learning about new ways of treating the illness I was keen to create an arthritis blog and gain contributors and a theme always works well so I created this arthritis free Wordpress theme pretty early on.

The background to the page is a pale blue textured image that rather looks like a woolen material. The main header image has a graduated sky blue background and shows an elderly couple to the right. The elderly male appears as though he is stretching. The text is black on a white background with pastel blue links. I didn’t want to create a Wordpress theme that was all medical looking and I wanted to creat a theme that could easily be used for other popular blog themes such as general health, exercise, elderly folk and the likes.

I love gadgets and especially electrical gadgets and, if you read the welcome message on the blog, you will see that I am also interested in many other household appliances. Creating a free wordpress theme for a blog about appliances was, therefore, high on my agenda but I wanted something that matched (to some degree) those Wordpress themes which I had already created.

The background image for the page is a pale blue texture with the main text of the page being black on white. I opted for a more pastel shade of blue for the links to make the page appear more calming than the usual bright blue links you see on many sites (even these days they remain popular). The main header image for the theme consists of two groups of electrical and household goods with one over to the left and the other to the right. I included a couple of white goods, such as the washing machine over to the right, and a few smaller items such as a kettle and a toaster (also shown to the right side of the header).

Free Wordpress Theme Anti-Aging

Something we should all be interested in is skin care. I have had an involvement in the skin care industry for a number of years now and I suspect that I shall be created a number of related Wordpress themes over the years. This particular free Wordpress theme is anti-aging but is suitable for all skin care related blog topics.

This anti-aging Wordpress theme uses a textured pink/tan page background image. I wanted the texture to appear like a woven material such as a face cloth and I have utilized the same image, in a brighter, gray, tone for the background to the main header image. Over to the right I have placed an image of a young woman cleansing her face in a mirror. I have taken my usual approach in that the text is black on a white background but I have made the main links a shade of pink.

Free Wordpress Theme Alternative Medicine

As I suffer from a small number of medical complaints health, and especially alternative health, will be a common blog theme for me so it is of no surprise that one of my earliest free Wordpress themes is a theme for alternative medicine. Although I had alternative medicine in mind when creating this theme I wanted to make it available for other blog topics such as alternative health, herbs, essential oils and the likes, I think I may have managed it with this fresh looking Wordpress theme.

Like all my other themes this free Wordpress theme uses a simple black text on a white background approach to keep things easy to read and fresh looking. I have, as I usually do, used a textured image for the page background, this time going with an olive color to compliment the green of the herbs in the main header image. The header image begins with a bunch of fresh herbs to the left followed by some dried and then some essential oils in dark brown bottles.

Free Wordpress Theme - Addictions

Well having something of an addictive nature I just had to create a free Wordpress theme on the topic of addictions and for my first attempt I am rather pleased. The main reason I am so pleased with this theme is that it is so easy to find an alternative use for it such as drugs, medicine and virtually any other related or even health related blog topic.

This addictions Wordpress theme uses a lightly textured gray background image to add impact to the main header image. The main header image consists of a main background of an assortment of pills, drugs and medicine with an overlayed image of a syringe to the right.

Free Wordpress Theme On Accounting

At one time I was actually an accountant so I just had to create a free Wordpress theme for the topic of accounting. I must admit that creating this Wp theme was far more enjoyable than preparing a full set of accounts for a pet shop (one of my worst experiences ever but that’s another story!). This Wordpress theme has textured pale blue background image (bubbled) with a mainly blue header image. The main header image featured a faded office worker at his desk overlayed with a faded grid pattern and a pair of hands operating a calculator appearing from the bottom left corner.

As you can see, from the screenshot above, although I based this Wordpress theme on accounting and accountancy it is highly suitable for various other business and office themed blogs.

Free Wordpress Theme On Acne

So here we go again! In an attempt to rebuild this blog following its destruction by UK2.net I have decided to begin adding all of the free wordpress themes I have created so far so that this blog has details of each and every free Wordpress theme. I shall, where possible, be adding them in alphabetical order but here I have decided to start with an acne Wordpress theme.

This Wp theme has a pink textured background image with the link text also being pink. The header image is of skin covered in pimples, it may not look too pretty but I think it conveys the message about what the blog topic is

I have followed my prefered Wp theme base of black text (or dark gray) on a white background for the sake of clarity. On the image above you can see that in this blog I have the Wordpress plugin “Sociable” enabled and that it is using widgets (all my Wordpress themes are “widget ready” designs).
